• **Max Market Cap**: \~$1 billion

# Bonding Curve

A bonding curve is a mathematical formula within a smart contract that defines the relationship between the price and supply of a token. As more tokens are minted and bought, the price increases along the bonding curve. Conversely, when tokens are sold or burned, the price decreases. This mechanism ensures a dynamic pricing model based on supply and demand.

Bonding curves simplify the creation and management of community tokens by eliminating traditional barriers such as writing, testing, and auditing smart contracts, as well as setting up liquidity pools. This ensures instant liquidity and automated pricing, allowing users to create and trade community coins with a single click. By leveraging bonding curves, Musing enables effortless token creation and trading, allowing communities to focus on growth and engagement without technical hassles.

### Key Elements of the Bonding Curve Logic:

* &#x20;**Dynamic Pricing**: The price of the token increases as more tokens are minted and decreases as tokens are burned. This is managed through a constant product formula.
* &#x20;**Instant Liquidity**: The bonding curve ensures that there is always a price at which tokens can be bought or sold, providing continuous liquidity.

### **Price Interval-based Bonding Curve**

Musing employs the Discrete Bonding Curve (DBC) model, which divides the curve into specific price intervals. Unlike a continuous linear curve (y = x), the DBC model uses stepped intervals, providing greater customization and addressing technical challenges in implementing bonding curves with smart contracts.

<figure><img src="https://890684855-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FkPYRf1Zv8vrap70ZB3mT%2Fuploads%2FSg08GSzMDyNY1zZelSqB%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=ddb9600e-676c-4efa-9dae-a6d377d4bb3a" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

## Mathematical Formula

The bonding curve is divided into steps, each with a specific price and supply range. The steps are calculated using a quadratic formula based on the initial and final prices, as well as the initial and maximum supply.

### Steps Calculation

The steps in the bonding curve are determined using a quadratic formula based on the initial and final prices, as well as the initial and maximum supply.

* Let $$P\_0$$ be the initial price.
* Let $$P\_n$$ be the final price.
* Let $$S\_0$$ be the initial supply.
* Let $$S\_n$$ be the maximum supply.
* Let $$C$$ be the creator allocation.
* Let $$N$$ be the number of steps.

***

1. **Step Size (** $$ΔX$$**)**

$$
ΔX=(S\_n−C) / N
$$

* $$ΔX$$: Increment in supply for each step
* $$S\_n$$: Maximum supply
* $$C$$: Creator allocation
* $$N$$: Number of steps

2. **Total Range (**$$totalX$$**) and Total Price Difference (**$$totalY$$**):**

$$
totalX=S\_n −C−ΔX
$$

* $$totalX$$: Total range in supply
* $$ΔX$$: Increment in supply for each step

$$
totalY=P\_n −P\_0
$$

* $$totalY$$: Total price difference
* $$P\_n$$: Final price
* $$P\_0$$: Initial price

3. **Quadratic Coefficient (**$$𝑎$$**):**

$$
a= totalY / totalX^2
$$

* $$𝑎$$: Coefficient for the quadratic curve

4. **Supply at Each Step (** $$𝑥\_𝑖$$ **):**

$$
x\_i =i×ΔX+C
$$

* $$x\_i$$: Supply at step i
* $$i$$: Step number

5. **Price at Each Step (** $$𝑦 𝑖$$ **):**

$$
y\_i=a×(x\_i−ΔX−C)^2 + P\_0
$$

* $$y\_i$$  : Price at step 𝑖

6. **Final Step Price (**$$y\_N$$**):**

$$
y\_N=P\_n
$$

* $$y\_N$$ : Price at the final step

### Determining the Current Step in the Bonding Curve:

To find the current step based on the total supply:

$$
currentStep=min({i∣currentSupply≤rangeTo\_i})
$$

This formula means that the current step is the smallest step index i such that the current supply is less than or equal to the upper limit of the supply range ($$rangeTo\_i$$) for that step.

* $$min⁡$$: This denotes the minimum function, which finds the smallest value in a set.
* $$i$$: This represents the step index.
* $$currentSupply$$: The current total supply of the token.
* $$rangeTo\_i$$: The upper limit of the supply range for step i.

### Calculating the Reserve Amount for Minting

To calculate the reserve amount for minting tokens:

$$
reserveAmount=∑\_i^{steps} (tokensToMint×price\_i / 10^{decimals})
$$

* $$tokensToMint$$: The number of tokens to be minted.
* $$price\_i$$: The price per token at step iii.
* $$decimals$$: The decimal places of the token.

### Calculating the Refund Amount for Burning

To calculate the refund amount for burning tokens:

$$
refundAmount=∑
\_{i=1}^{steps}(tokensToBurn×price \_i / 10^{decimals})
$$

* $$∑\_{i=1}^{steps}$$: This denotes the summation, meaning that the value inside the parentheses is summed for each step i from 1 to the total number of steps.
* $$tokensToBurn$$: The number of tokens to be burned.
* $$price\_i$$: The price per token at step iii.
* $$10^{decimals}$$: The factor to adjust for the token's decimal places.

Minting and burning tokens will incur a 7% tax, which will be split between the platform and rewards.

### Future Improvements

Musing successfully launched on the Avalanche Mainnet with core platform features implemented. The following are enhancements to be added in the future.

* **Automated Liquidity Pools**: Automated liquidity pools will enhance liquidity and price stability. This feature will automatically deploy liquidity to a DEX when community coins reach a certain market cap.
* **Governance Tools**: Governance tools are being developed to empower community members with the ability to vote on critical decisions, such as selecting community leaders, configuring rewards, and appointing moderators.
* **Musing Coin (MSC) Integration**: The MSC token will be integrated into the platform, backing community coins and providing additional utility. This integration will enhance the value and functionality of the platform, ensuring that the token is actively used within the ecosystem.

# Overview

The reward system in Musing operates on a hybrid decentralized/centralized model designed to ensure fairness and efficiency. Rewards are sourced from transaction fees generated when users buy and sell community coins, with each transaction incurring a 7% fee. These fees are accumulated in the reward pool and distributed to content creators daily based on the number of upvotes their content receives and other factors like views and reputation.

Transaction fees for community coins are sent to a designated address. Currently, the Musing service provider manages this address, taking the reward tokens and distributing them daily at a rate of approximately 10 cents per upvote. In the future, this address will be configurable through governance for each specific community coin.

The hybrid model is characterized by its combination of centralized and decentralized elements. While the actual distribution of rewards is managed centrally by a designated distributor address, the control over who manages this address is decentralized. This ensures that the community retains control over the reward distribution process, providing both efficiency and community governance.

### Here's how the hybrid model works:

1. **Centralized Distribution**: The reward distributor is responsible for allocating rewards to content creators. This centralized management ensures that the process is streamlined and efficient, preventing issues like spam and bots from gaming the system.
2. **Decentralized Control**: The community has the power to vote on who the reward distributor will be. This is done through governance contracts, where community members vote on three leaders who collectively decide on the reward distributor address. This decentralizes the control over the reward distribution, ensuring that it remains transparent and community-driven.

The system incorporates various checks and balances to prevent spam and bot activities, ensuring a fair distribution of rewards. This approach addresses issues seen in past platforms, such as whales gaming the system by unfairly distributing rewards.

Unlike Steemit, where rewards were based purely on the number of tokens held by the upvoter (allowing whales to disproportionately influence reward distribution), Musing uses a hybrid model. Transaction fees are first sent to a reward pool contract. This contract locks up the reward tokens and releases them to the distributor periodically (e.g., daily). This mechanism prevents the reward distributor from receiving a large sum of tokens at once, reducing the risk of misappropriation.

The settings on the reward pool contract can be configured through governance. This includes the rate at which tokens are released and the selection of the reward distributor. The community can vote on who will be the reward distributor, ensuring that while the distribution process is centralized (one address manages the distribution), the control over who the distributor is remains decentralized.

In practice, the community will vote on three community leaders who will collectively decide on the reward distributor address, facilitating easier and more democratic changes within the community. This governance voting mechanism ensures that the distribution process remains transparent and community-driven.

By implementing this hybrid decentralized/centralized model, Musing ensures that rewards are distributed fairly and efficiently while maintaining a balance between centralized management and decentralized governance. This approach addresses the shortcomings of past platforms and fosters a more sustainable and engaging ecosystem for content creators and community members.

# Post Rewards

### Overview

Post rewards are designed to incentivize user engagement and content creation on our platform. The reward amount is calculated daily based on transaction fees, and distributed to posts that receive the most upvotes from other users. Here's how it works:

<figure><img src="https://890684855-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FkPYRf1Zv8vrap70ZB3mT%2Fuploads%2F6IgOjfIh5TVKWOjanyb9%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=c54eac8e-9a04-459c-80ae-1b4f7a55615f" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Reward Calculation

1. **Daily Calculation**:
   * Each day, the total reward amount is calculated based on the transaction fees incurred from buy/sell transactions.
   * Every buy/sell transaction on the platform incurs a 7% tax fee.
2. **Fee Distribution**:
   * 50% of the total transaction fees collected each day is allocated to community post rewards.
   * For example, if the total transaction fees collected on a particular day is $10,000, then $5,000 (50% of $10,000) will be distributed as community post rewards.

#### Reward Distribution

1. **Post Creation Date**:
   * The total community reward for a day is distributed to posts created on that same day.
   * For instance, if $5,000 is available for rewards on July 4th, it will be distributed among the posts created on July 4th.
2. **Based on Points**:
   * Rewards are distributed based on the number of points a post receives from other users.
   * Posts with more points will receive a higher share of the total rewards for that day.
   * Example: If three posts are created on July 4th with 10, 20, and 70 points respectively, the rewards might be distributed as follows:
     * Post 1: 10% of $5,000 = $500
     * Post 2: 20% of $5,000 = $1,000
     * Post 3: 70% of $5,000 = $3,500
3. **Distribution Timing**:
   * Rewards are distributed after a 7-day period. This allows enough time for posts to accumulate upvotes and for the platform to process the reward allocation.
   * For example, rewards for posts created on July 4th will be distributed on July 12th.
   * You will receive a notification after the rewards are distributed, and you can view the list of your rewards on the Profile Rewards page.

# Moderator Rewards

### Overview

Moderator rewards are designed to compensate moderators for their efforts in managing and maintaining the quality of their communities. These rewards come from the post promotion features, ensuring that moderators receive a share of the revenue generated from these activities.

### Reward Calculation and Distribution

1. **Post Promotion Features**:
   * When a user utilizes post promotion features to highlight their posts within a community, a fee is incurred.
2. **Reward Distribution**:
   * **90% to Moderators**: The majority of the promotion fee (90%) is distributed to the moderators of the community.
   * **10% to the Platform**: A small portion of the fee (10%) is retained by the platform to cover distribution costs and other administrative fees.

# Referral Rewards

### Overview

Referral rewards are designed to incentivize users to invite others to join the platform. Whenever a referred user performs a buy/sell transaction, the referrer earns a percentage of the transaction fee as a reward. This system encourages community growth and rewards users for their contributions.

<figure><img src="https://890684855-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FkPYRf1Zv8vrap70ZB3mT%2Fuploads%2FIRCU41ncP3kwNnAlafAa%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=10edf29a-6f21-48f6-a69a-d73d5db79d9f" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### How Referral Rewards Work

1. **Referral Process**:
   * Existing users can invite others to join the platform using their unique referral link or code.
2. **Transaction Fee Sharing**:
   * Every time a referred user performs a buy/sell transaction on the platform, 25% of the transaction fee is allocated to the referrer.
   * This reward is directly tied to the referred user's activity, providing ongoing incentives for the referrer.

### Reward Calculation and Distribution

1. **Transaction Fee**:
   * Each buy/sell transaction incurs a standard transaction fee of 7%.
2. **Referral Reward**:
   * 25% of the 7% transaction fee is allocated to the referrer.
   * Example Calculation:
     * If a referred user makes a transaction with a fee of $100, the referral reward would be: $$Referral Reward=100×0.07×0.25=$1.75$$
